Winning the clean dining award is no simple task. It takes commitment, dedication and pride. Serving only the best in flavors and making sure that our working areas are up to safe standards. Here at Ashley's Restaurant & Bar we take pride in making sure that our food is safe to eat as well as delicious.
There is something special about the food that the Ashley family creates. For more then 56 years the Ashley legacy has pleased thousands of hungry families and had them coming back for more.
Mr. Thomas Ashley took a leap of faith by leaving his job of nine years at A.O.

Smith in 1961 to begin “Ashley’s Barbeque” at 1501 W Center Street. The legacy has continued here at the Port Hotel with his son Darnell Ashley; the winner of the 2017 BBQ Brawl and nationally known for having one of the best BBQ restaurants in Milwaukee. Ashley’s has award winning flavor and sauce that has people always coming back for more, with a southern flare and authentic cooking styles Ashley's has made its place as one of Milwaukee's historical eateries to indulge in.  

As a consumer, I remember coming to the Port hotel during the 90's where I engaged in delectable entrees with good friends Bobo stone from Stone Croft, Joe Salvatore D'Acquisto and Franco P. My experiences dining at the Port Hotel and Smith Bros. encouraged me to bring my families legacy out to the port Washington area to provide exceptional dishes that were passed down to me and also some that were inspired by my time spent at the Port Hotel. 
My hopes for expansion into the Port Hotel is to create an environment of causal family filled dining for the loving people of the Ozaukee county and beyond.  
To continue to create award winning dishes like BBQ ribs, Beef Brisket, Steak and also some delicious Mussels and pasta. We love to put smiles on our hungry families faces and to send them home with a great experience and a full tummy.
